Tamara Botwinick is the founder and owner of Toolbox to Success. Prior to starting Toolbox for Success, she received her bachelor’s degree from Loyola Marymount University in Political Science and a credential and Master’s Degree in Education from Pepperdine University in Los Angeles, California. She has always loved children and knew she wanted to work in education from a young age. Tamara started out teaching in Los Angeles in 2011 as a fourth grade teacher and went on to teach all grades from kindergarten to fifth grade over the last ten years. After working with so many types of students and realizing she was passionate about building relationships with and helping students who learn differently, Tamara decided to pursue obtaining her Educational Therapist License, while continuing to practice as an independent Learning Specialist.
As an active participant in ongoing education such as the International Dyslexia Association, Tamara is able to address a wide variety of learning challenges. She has also been trained in programs that are used for general and special education students such as: Lucy Calkins Reading and Writing Workshop, Wilson Reading Systems, Wilson Fundations, Touch Math, Leveled Literacy Intervention, and Singapore Math.
