Toolbox to Success - What to Expect

Toolbox to Success understands that each child learns differently and needs their own unique learning plan in order to reach their fullest potential. Getting to know the student and their family is an integral part of being able to create a customized approach to learning that will set them up for future success.

Initial Planning

During our first initial meeting we will discuss your concerns about your child’s learning and any presenting problems they are experiencing in or out of the classroom.

Following our intake meeting, your child and I will meet together to conduct an informal assessment. During this process I will look at their reading, math, writing, and executive functioning skills. (Such as task completion, organization, and time management.) I will then create a tailored learning plan specific to your child’s learning needs, including both short term and long term goals.

Practice

Your child and I will begin to meet on a weekly basis, working towards both short and long-term goals. During this time, if students are struggling with specific skills taught in the classroom, we will address their difficulties to solidify concepts and make the learning more accessible to them.

You will receive bi-monthly reports detailing what your child and I are working on, their successes and next steps.

Monthly check-ins will be conducted where all members of the student’s success team will be invited and encouraged to attend. Members of the success team can include parents, teachers, and coaches.
